The definition of “Scope” is to observe in order to take action. To scope is to see the big picture. A leader must scope in order to lead and in order to take action. However, a leader must also ask a lot of questions of those who wish to be lead. The leader must discover what the people want, need and already know in order to help them experience things that they have not yet experienced. Great leaders help by empowering others to discover the answers for themselves. For that the leader must have scope and vision.
