Okay, I have a confession to make. I’m an avid walker! The warming Spring weather draws me outdoors, loving the feel of the warm sun on my face, the sounds of Happy birds singing merrily amongst the trees! Squirrels chasing each other playfully, are all music to my ears. Because I was over confident of my usual walk, I missed a black ice patch. Well, long story short, my husband picked me up and took me to emergency where I received amazing care, albeit a test to my patience. What I did was a great deal of mindfulness breathing and centering along with meditation. Unfortunately, very few people know how to breathe and centre your thoughts. For me, the personal experience was beautiful. For most others they were either comatose or blaming, angry, complaining patients. What a blessed knowledge it is to know “Mindfulness” and to apply this practice whenever challenges arise, and/or in times of gratitude. I personally have a new admiration for our health care workers at the Grace Emergency and of course, Mindfulness.
