I am inspired by Kelly Merbler’s post on the power of one. She states,”As a speaker it is always exciting to speak to a large crowd. The one thing I always focus on with every keynote I give, however, is to not get caught up in how many people are in the room.”
Merbler states, “Focus on one.”
– The one person I can inspire.
– The one person who needs to hear my message.
– The one life I can help through a barrier.
– The one person who feels the way I felt.
“Each life I can add value to matters. One person did that for me and changed my entire career plan. And the one I can affect adds up to a lifetime of doing what I was born to do.”
I totally agree with Merbler. My experience of teaching at all ages has been to pay it forward to at least one person a day. And, if I reach more, that’s a bonus!
