I am frequently inspired by Jon Gordon. He inspired me with a post on showing up and doing the work, no matter what others say positively or negatively. I often am affected by the atmosphere of a situation, but I am also aware of the impact I can make to create a positive atmosphere wherever I am. Gordon states:
“If they praise you, show up and do the work.
If they criticize you, show up and do the work.
If no one notices you, show up and do the work.
Just keep showing up, doing the work and leading the way.
Lead with passion.
Fuel with optimism.
Have faith.
Power up with love.
Maintain hope.
Be stubborn.
Fight the good fight.
Refuse to give up.
Ignore the critics.
Believe in the impossible.
Show up.
Do the work.
You’ll be glad you did.
True grit leads to success.”
This truly is courage. However, what we need in all facets of life today is faith in our influence as leaders. Believe in yourself and take a few deep breaths and lead with courage and optimism! The world needs you.
