Self=care is a discipline which we all should indulge in. It is important that we mindfully take care that we get enough sleep, exercise, do meditation, and eat a healthy diet. Self-care takes tough-mindedness, a deep and personal understanding of your priorities and a respect for yourself and the people you choose to spend time with. It requires the following:
– turning off the TV instead of watching more sit-coms, and getting a quality sleep each night.
– declining a second drink at a holiday party.
– saying no to something that you don’t want to do even if it disappoints others.
– Maintaining financial independence.
– doing work that matters.
= Letting other people take care of themselves.
– being kind to yourself when you are not perfect.
