Gavin McCormack sent me an interesting article about our perception of failure. We as educators must encourage our students to accept failure as an important part of learning. If we model failure as part of learning, our students will attempt the most difficult challenges.
McCormack states that “The only thing that changes steppingstones into stumbling blocks is the fear of failure. It is our job to give our students the confidence to try and the resilience to fail and try again.“
When we role model that failure is part of learning, our students will learn to be better learners and take risks.
