Maxwell’s word of the day is ‘Anger.’ He reminds us of the importance of not going to bed angry. Anger causes us to get our emotions out of balance, making us think and do things we should not do.
Although we all have angry moments in our life, we have a choice of how we respond to anger. We can choose to react to anger or understand what is driving it.
The Dalai Lama says that a scientist from Emory University told him that continuous anger, fear and suspicion tend to eat into our immune system. Yet, peace of mind and warmth bring us confidence. Lama says, “No matter how educated or wealthy you are, if you don’t have peace of mind, you won’t be happy.”
So, my message to you is to notice your feelings of anger, acknowledge them, and choose to let it go. Your response is your choice. Do you want to be right or happy. We make better, more balanced decisions when we breathe through anger and wait to think clearly before responding to the emotion.
