Like many others, I can be very good at putting myself down. We live in a world of criticism. Mind you, I like to be critical of myself when writing, speaking or planning something new. However, I think the self-criticism must be to improve, not to disapprove of yourself. Yesterday I listened to another of Simon Sinek’s Youtube videos where he talks about being very conscious of how we speak about our weaknesses. Sinek suggests that whenever we say we are not good at something, to add the word, “YET.” So, I am trying it out. One skill I am not feeling very good at “YET” is writing. Another skill I’m trying to improve is marketing. So, I will write, I am not good at marketing my business, “YET.” Try it out for yourself! I’m hoping to say the word “YET” all day today.
