I am often inspired by Jon Gordon’s posts on LinkedIn. Gordon quotes his book, Shark, “A team with a lot of love doesn’t need a lot of rules. Love makes people more accountable… Love creates trust, trust leads to commitment, and commitment leads to sacrifice. If you love your team, you will give your all to the team. Love also makes people more accountable. If you love your team, you will want to be your best for them, and you want them to be great too.”
I can personally agree with this version of team and love. I have experienced such teams a few times in my education and business career. Those teams have been amazing to work with. However, this love must be developed, often through adversity. We must believe that failure is human and that when we make mistakes we fix the by taking ownership and learning from them.
