Gavin McCormack posted an inspiring article about not using technology as a reward or punishment. He makes the following 4 points about this:
1. If we want our children to be able to live with or without technology, we must treat it as something normal. Normalize it’s use.
2. Set specific tines each day when technology can be used. Give each child a five minute warning when their time is almost done.
3. Set parental limits on what can be researched, which apps to use and never allow your child access to apps where private messages can be sent.
4. Model the healthy use of technology to your children. Show them that you can live without technology as well.
