Today I was inspired by an article posted by Leadership First. It stresses the importance of leaders admitting their mistakes. Of course it cautions us not to be reckless. However, that as a leader you are setting an example by admitting your mistakes. If you are showing responsibility and modeling admitting your mistakes, it will help your team to be responsible and admitting their mistakes as well.
The article quotes, “A true leader is one who is humble enough to admit their mistakes.”
I have found this true as a parent, teacher and guidance Counsellor. When adults admit their mistakes and model fixing mistakes, students and children will learn from their mistakes by taking ownership and responsibility by learning from each mistake.
