I enjoy Gavin McCormack’s articles and his quote, “The rain grows flowers, not thunder. Choose your words carefully.”
He states that if we want to cultivate a community of love, a group of children and families who respect and protect each other, we must model this behaviour ourselves.
I’ve always believed that it takes a village to raise a child. Our actions and behaviours are being watched closely by our children. They wh our every action and mimic what they see. If we want our children to treat each other respectfully, we better model such Behavior.
Especially during this time of much being said about racism, we must be acutely mindful that treating each other with kindness and compassion is the only way we will begin to eliminate racism.
