Gavin McCormack posted an article on the small fact that the most beautiful thing in the world is a child’s smile. The next best thing is that you are the reason behind it.
I remember so many beautiful moments when a child or any of my students, young or older, broke into a beautiful smile because they figured something out! It always gives me goosebumps when that happens. It is a kind of euphoria.
If there ever was a goal that we could all achieve tomorrow, it’s this one. If every teacher could make this happen today, that would mean each child would go home happier than when they left the house this morning. Imagine if we each made two smiles or more.
Now, that’s the power of influence. Leadership is not about being popular, it’s not about making money or buying goods that show your social status.
Leadership is about doing what’s right, going that extra mile and knowing what really makes our heart sing.
Come on, let’s change the world, one positive comment, one pat on the back, one “I believe in you,” one smile, one child, one school, one community at a time.
