I received the following advice on Facebook today that inspired me to share in my blog today.
“Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?
Take care of your tongue like the way you take care of silver and gold.
There’s a difference between speaking the truth in love and judging someone hypocritically … make sure you know the difference before you speak!
Think before you speak, your words could hurt someone’s feelings more than you intended to.
Before you speak, listen. Before you write, think. Before you spend, earn. Before you invest, investigate. Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try. Before you retire, save. Before you die, give.”
