This morning, John C. Maxwell shared his thoughts on “Transparency & Leadership.” He said that great leaders are “Transparent.” Great leaders need to be vulnerable, transparent and reveal their fallible humanity. You will not lead very effectively if you cannot show that you are human with failings. However, you also need to show that when you do make mistakes, you learn from them and grow. If you are afraid to show your humanity, your followers will not trust you are there for them. Mahatma Ghandi said, “A sign of a good leader is not how many followers you have, but how many leaders you create.” A great leader empowers you to learn and become a leader for others. That is my goal! To empower others to lead.
