J. C. Maxwell says that “Leaders are dealers in hope.” He says that he’s not talking about false hope but in helping your people see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have experienced many colleagues who deal hope only to those they like and false hope to those they do not like. What Maxwell talks about is seeing hope in the dark times, the seed of opportunity that is planted when hope is scarce. What a gift you are as a leader when you show your followers the hope of opportunities. Be that kind of leader today, giving hope to those you lead who seem in despair of opportunity.
